Soma Life Studio follows applicable state and federal privacy laws to handle your information with diligence and integrity. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you visit our website and when you communicate with us.
Information shared with Soma Life Studio is used only for purposes related to the provision of and coordination of services, responding to inquiries, and fulfilling legal and ethical obligations. By using this website, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

- Contact information including your name, email address, and phone number
- Personal information submitted through contact forms
- Insurance information provided during the intake process, including any documents you may provide or upload
- Any other personal information you voluntarily share
- Usage data that does not include PHI (limited non-identifiable data used for website analytics such as browser type, browser version, IP address, cookies, diagnostic data and time spent on this website)
- Third-Party Social Media Service Information: this website contains links to third-party social media sites (e.g. LinkedIn, Psychology Today). Electing to utilize these links may result in collection of personal data that is already associated with your third-party social media service’s account, such as your name on your account, your activities and/or your contacts associated with that account. If you click on a link, we strongly advise you to review that website’s Privacy Policy.
Please be mindful that electing to submit information through our website does not constitute a client-therapist relationship. A formal therapeutic relationship begins only after informed consent and intake procedures are completed.

Storage and Security
If you engage with Soma Life Studios, your information is protected under applicable confidentiality laws and ethical standards. Soma Life Studio uses HIPAA-compliant platforms for electronic record keeping, including communication and documentation whenever PHI is involved. Retention of information and access to information is limited to clinicians who require it to perform their professional roles, and to the extent necessary to comply with legal obligations.

Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate
If you do not have or choose not to utilize health insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate under the No Surprises Act explaining how much your mental health care will cost.
A Good Faith Estimate provides an expected cost of services based on information provided at the time and is available upon request or during the intake process. This estimate is not a bill and may change if your care needs change.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you may have the right to dispute the charges.
For questions about Good Faith Estimates, please contact us directly.
Policy Regarding Minors
This website is intended for people over the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without parental or legal guardian consent. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from anyone under the age of 16 without parental or legal guardian consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers. If you, as a parent or legal guardian, have become aware that a minor in your care has provided us with personal data without your consent, please contact us.
However, it should also be considered that Connecticut law provides additional privacy protections for minors in certain mental health contexts. Please be advised that minors can seek and obtain outpatient mental health treatment without the consent and/or notification of parent(s)/guardian(s) under certain conditions (Conn. Gen. Stat. § 19a-14c). For minors engaged in treatment, the minor’s consent is required before disclosing treatment information, even to a parent or guardian.
